Dr. Clayton Parr Began directing the BCMS in 2024, and is the current Director of Choirs at Albion College.
Parr brings over 35 years of experience as a director and professional choral singer to this ensemble. He has sung professionally in Chicago with Music of the Baroque, Bella Voce and the Grant Park Festival Chorus, and nationally with the Oregon Bach Festival, the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, and the Syracuse Vocal Ensemble.
In addition, Parr has led the Michigan Educators Male Ensemble for the last 10 years, and previously conducted the Battle Creek Community Chorus for 11 years.
At the collegiate level, choirs under his direction have won prizes at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales on two occasions, and have been invited to perform at conventions of various music organizations.
He is looking forward to celebrating the 25th Anniversary season of the BCMS, and working with the ensemble to curate creative programming, invigorating rehearsals and performances, and new connections with area audiences.
